Commercial Sales Manager

On behalf of our client, we have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic Business Development and Account Manager to join their reputable publishing company.

The Commercial Sales Manager is a pivotal role within this organisation and the post holder would be responsible for maximising revenues and business from key clients in the markets, this is a role selling advertising across both print, online and events as well as leading a Sales small team.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver an advertising and sponsorship sales strategy for the team, magazine and events.

  • To ensure that all revenue streams are maximised working to tight deadlines.

  • To achieve targeted revenues and yields on your team and from existing and new clients.

  • To have a clear and measurable strategy for Advertising and Sponsorship and ensure that your sales team, publishing team and editorial team have all understood and bought into the strategy.

  • To deliver accurate forecasts as requested by Managing Director and to be able to communicate year- end figures any time.

  • To ensure that all members of your team have a clear grasp of your strategy, revenue

    commitments and implications.

 

  • To know your top spending clients across the magazine, monitoring year-on-year,  growth/decline by regular contact with all members of your team.

  • Deliver the highest level of professionalism to your clients. Focus on growth of market share per account you manage. Be proactive in all commercial activity and develop and exploit all new revenue streams.

  • To sell media solutions to a selection of clients both over the phone and face-to-face.

     

    The Business Development Manager will cover the greater Dublin area and must be willing to travel in this area two days per week. Applicants from NI and ROI are welcome.

     

 

In addition to this applicants must demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of advertising/sponsorship sales including selling media solutions, both print, online and events on the phone and face-to-face.  

  • Experience of a commercial sales environment including the ability to reach the targeted effective calls/meetings per week and maximise and deliver targeted revenues.

  • Experience of generating new business streams within an advertising environment.

  • Ability to generate significant forward bookings and up-sell existing clients.

  • Team leader player who is used to working towards team targets.

  • A good understanding of people management.

  • Strong negotiator.

  • Excellent relationships building skills at all levels of a business.

  • Effective communication skills including excellent presentation skills, confident telephone manner and excellent telephone sales skills.

  • Full Driving licence.

 

The Sales Manager can expect a highly competitive salary between £25-£30k depending on skills and experience and OTE of £60K. The post also offers a company car and benefit.
