Our client is one of the world’s largest suppliers of power and construction equipment, they are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team to predominately cover NI and Co Donegal but with some travel to ROI and UK mainland also expected.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting field-based maintenance and repairs mainly on diesel engines and generators throughout Ireland in the marine industry, but would also have the opportunity and the requirement to work on all other Caterpillar applications on occasion.
You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on our client’s products, guaranteeing that machines operate at the required standards.
Ensuring that all environmental, health and safety policies are followed, you will respond to customers’ field call outs, quickly identifying and explaining the nature of faults to the customer. Working as part of a rota, you will provide cover on a 24 hour call out basis, delivering a high standard of customer service at all times.
Your other duties will involve:
– Responding to emergency call outs
– Carrying out planned service and maintenance
– Completing service reports and warranty documentation
– Repairing and carrying out work on marine engines
To be considered for this role, you must have:
– Experience of working with a variety of engines, control systems and various types of installations.
– Experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing marine diesel propulsion engines and generators
– Marine experience
– An NVQ Level 3 in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent
– A full, valid driving licence
Proactive and hands-on, as a Field Service Engineer, you must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. An analytical mindset and customer-focused approach are also key.
