Purpose of the Role
The Energia Group has a permanent vacancy for a Generation Asset Accountant reporting to the Energy Finance Manager. A highly motivated, strong self-sufficient individual is required to undertake full responsibility for all financial deliverables associated with Energia’s two CCGT Power Stations (Huntstown). Close interaction with the plant senior management & operational teams located in Dublin is essential as will cross-departmental interaction throughout the Energia finance and trading teams based in Belfast. Travel to our Dublin offices is required 2 or 3 times per month.
This role provides a challenging and exciting opportunity to acquire substantial new skills in a leading and dynamic business in Ireland. The individual will be expected to learn and understand new market arrangements associated with I-SEM (Market Reform) so they can support the operational and commercial decisions associated with participating in the market.

End to End Responsibility of Monthly Management Accounts and Reporting to Senior Management to include;
- Full P&L preparation & analysis
- Responsibility for the Balance Sheet to include working capital & cashflow variance analysis
- Fixed asset management
- Presentation of results to senior management in a clear and concise fashion, highlighting areas of risk
Annual Business Planning & Rolling Monthly Forecasts (LBE)
- Coordination & accountability for gross margin forecasts working closely with trading & generation asset teams
- Planning & budgetary control of operating & maintenance costs in line with plant availability and forecast running schedules
- Capital Expenditure Planning including plant outages & strategic spares management
Audit, Financial Control & Statutory Accounting
- Lead contact and support to audit both external and internal, coordinating with the wider Energia Group.
- Oversee and ensure appropriate procurement controls and compliance with Financial Limits of Authority
- Coordinate tax compliance throughout the Energia Group including compliance with VAT & RCT
- Preparation of Regulatory & Statutory accounts
In addition to the core financial activities the individual will be expected to actively participate in the ISEM project in particular supporting the finance team transition which will require integration of new IT applications, changes in commercial arrangements and a review of appropriate management & risk reporting.

Knowledge and Experience
· Fully qualified accountant
· Experience of managing: people, resources, projects with proven ability & interpersonal skills to work with various teams/stakeholders to achieve common objectives
· Ability to prioritise and manage a varied and significant workload, while consistently delivering results
· Knowledge / experience of contract negotiations and managing complex financial modelling OR significant balancing of data
· Experience of SAP and Cognos
· Knowledge of the Electricity industry
· Previously work in an engineering business within a finance capacity
