Group IT Services Manager

A local organisation that has grown internationally over the last 40 years’ seeks a Group IT Services Manager.

Your new company
They are a company with turnover in the Billions and employ almost 9000 staff across the world. They own a vast variety of companies within their particular market sector and their systems infrastructure is on a mammoth scale. Hays IT have made several successful appointments within their senior IT team and this role is carved out for a professional who has operated in a senior engineering/service management role and wishes to progress to the next stage in their careers.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Director of IT, you will have the opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of Group IT Services. You’ll develop the existing IT services provision to its maximum potential by offering a first-class service to internal system users and external stakeholders within the business. Primarily taking control of the 1st line infrastructure support team, you’ll also provide leadership to the company’s ERP support team and other IT staff where required. You’ll work alongside senior managers from across the business to ensure that best practice procedures are in operation and the department is effective in supporting the technical architecture of the organisation.

What you’ll need to succeed
The company wishes to recruit a professional with an excellent technical background, so you’ll require extensive experience in a senior technical role, preferably as a systems administrator or infrastructure engineer. Additionally, you’ll require some experience in leading and managing an IT team where you will have performed all line management responsibilities expected of a manager. You will require an IT degree at a very minimum however a strong application will have either an ITIL or PRINCE2 qualification to support your professional experience. Ideally, you’ll experience in working within a fast-paced production or FMCG environment where a high degree of flexibility is required in your approach.
