Tax Manager

JOB TITLE             Tax Manager, IOI                                                                              LOCATION          Dublin or Lisburn                                                 REPORTS TO       IOI CFO + Region Tax Manager                   Key Results Contributions MANAGE            Responsible for the business unit compliance in all areas of direct and indirect taxation in IOI Responsible for calculation and accuracy of tax provisions and estimates for internal reporting and statutory purposes Ensure internal policies (e.g. transfer pricing policy) are noted and tax processes are followed Safeguard internal controls and compliance with the local and group chart of authority as far as tax audits, tax rulings and intra-group transactions are concerned Responsible for the training and development of direct reports Assessing tax risk and opportunities across all departments and implementing corrective actions Responsible for managing tax function budgets                                PARTNER               Main country point of reference for tax related issues Main country point of contact for Region Tax Manager and Group Tax Liaison with local tax advisors on day-to-day activities, during tax audits and during litigation Support other internal functions to the extent required in the tax area Liaison with Internal Audit in relation to controls over tax risks and introducing new controls / processes to monitor risk where required Working with the payroll department to ensure tax compliance with local regulations - to respond to queries or liaise on any legislative changes           DELIVER                                               Ensure tax exposure and risk is fully factored into business process risk analysis and strategic decision making via participation into business process designing and implementation Prepare and sign off tax reporting data submitted to Group reporting Approve tax returns and ensures timely filings with the tax authorities Support the country in meeting tax and financial planning objectives Ensure delivery of projects with Region Tax Manager, as required Input into tax planning as part of the BP process LEAD                                    Responsible to secure that country project initiatives are reviewed from a tax perspective Support from a tax perspective any restructuring initiatives in the country/region Keeps country senior management and Group Tax informed of changes and developments in the taxation area Support the discussions with the tax authorities in the course of tax investigations within the limits specified in the local and group chart of authority Provides tax advice on correspondence and documentation for submission to the tax authorities within the limits specified in the local and group chart of authority Responsibility for ensuring transfer pricing documentation is up to date and reflects group policies            INNOVATE                             Develop and maintains expertise in the taxation area Develops procedures and processes to effectively carry out the areas of responsibilities and align with the Group policies  OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Full Driving Licence    • Fluent in English (both written and oral)             • 8+ years of relevant tax experience; experience in a Big 4 audit/tax advisory firm and/or a tax function of a multinational group is considered an advantage Selection Criteria                             - 8+ years of tax experience in an international environment (preferably within a Big4 firm or in FMCG multinational company) - Knowledge of international tax issues in a multinational environment - Willingness to learn and gain experience - Strong accounting and analytical skills - Customer focused with commercial mind set, drive and interest in taking on new tasks/projects, with ability to multitask - Capable of ensuring decision quality
