Based in South West Donegal
Contract Role: Duration 3-months
Negotiable salary – €30K+
Our client is a family owned company, who have been in operation for over 40 years and are an integral part of the local community and one of the main employers in the local area. They have been making and continue to make original produce since the founding of the Company.
They are a very customer and product focused business with a flat management structure and a “Hands On” approach from MD to shop floor. As a result, all members of the team have a deep understanding of the business and capabilities. This allows a great deal of flexibility and fast decision making which has led to their “Nothing is impossible” attitude.
They currently have a vacancy for a temporary Quality Manager to join their innovative team.
The successful applicant will report to the Head of Quality and the General Manager. Their duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
·Ensuring technical and customer requirements/standards are met with regard to existing products, new products and first productions
·Ensure compliance with BRC and customer specific standards is met at all times
·Working with the Production Team to establish and maintain procedures, standards & system procedures
·Completion of regular KPI reports for the management team as well as customers as required
·Conducting internal audits, including auditing products to ensure adherence to specification
·Manage the customer technical requirements on specifications, reviews, visits and queries in key accounts
·Supporting the Procurement ambition in the Budget through continuous evaluation of our Raw materials and Suppliers
·Be part of all New Product Introductions in terms of technical quality
·Manage Site Pest Control
·Manage on-site calibrations
·Keeping up to date on all Food Law and legislation
·Manage the Quality Team
·Lead all Customer Audits and annual BRC
·Any other duties should they arise
·Food Science qualification
·Knowledge of HACCP
·Food safety knowledge/experience
·3-4 years’ proven management experience in the food industry and in a production environment
·Proven experience of working successfully in a team environment
·Previous staff supervision experience
·Enjoys a fast-paced environment
·Good oral and written English
·A “Can Do” attitude and be willing to learn
·Effective communication skills
