Our client is a market leader in distribution. They manage supply chains for various sectors by streamlining market access to thousands of products and services. The company operates a global network with hundreds of locations across more than 70 countries. The purpose of this role is to develop sales in a significant emerging industry which will contribute to the achievement of agreed budgeted EBITDA.

The role

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the delivery of monthly/ quarterly/ annual EBITDA, cash flow and budgeted targets using effective sales techniques and the company’s sales procedures
  • Manage key accounts against set targets, including mandatory face to face sales call quotas each month
  • Open and develop new trading accounts
  • Maintain a sales plan for the area, monitoring and mapping time scales and actions required to achieve growth
  • Maintain appropriate level of product knowledge, including attendance at product training
  • Continually seek new market and product sales opportunities
  • Liaise with appropriate BDMs to maximise sales opportunities
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on competitor’s activities in order to identify sales opportunities
  • Contribute to industry and company product development to maximise sales opportunities
  • Liaise and work closely with other members of the sales team to ensure the customer’s requirement are fulfilled efficiently and effectively
  • Complete Visit Reports on a daily basis, allowing relevant members of the sales support team to follow up any actions
  • Complete Monthly Reports within the defined period, including analysis of the sales area and details supporting numbers
  • Proactively assist in managing targets for the sector, including the reduction of bad debtors
  • Contribute to the budgeting process by forecasting sales and profit within the sales area
  • Ensure that the business operates within the stated company quality assurance procedures and legal requirements at all times
  • Fulfil any other reasonable duties assigned by the Sector of Depot management as deemed necessary from time to time

The person

  • Experienced and professional sales account manager who can demonstrate effective time management, territory planning, commercial negotiation skills and project management
  • Proven track record in building sales and developing relationships within a competitive and innovative market
  • Previous experience as an Account Manager
  • Account management focus – sales and service driven
  • Ability to meet regular time critical reporting activities and forward calendar planning
  • Competent IT skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a variety of inter-company teams and able to develop strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Commercially astute
  • To be in Dublin depot at least 1 day per week (for more than 3/4 hours) and visit Belfast regularly
  • Must hold a Full Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 12 months)
  • A Degree in Business, Chemistry or relevant field would be desirable

Salary will be circa. €55,000 + €22,000 commission + company car + benefits.
