Our client specialises in the manufacture of savoury and sweet pastry products using cutting edge technology and production processes and due to ongoing growth, they have a requirement for new staff in their production facility North Tyrone.
In this role, you will be responsible for the effective utilisation of shift resources processes and people in order to produce excellent product at the correct quality, quantity and price to be delivered within set time frames, meeting service levels in line with KPI metrics.
Key duties will include but may not be limited to:
You are responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and others.
Ensure environmental policies are being adhered to by members of your team.
Ensure hygiene standards are met and maintained by members of your team.
Develop, train, inspire and lead a shift team to achieve operational and company goals and objectives. This will be achieved by creating and leading a multi skilled team who are able to respond to changing shift and company requirements.
Organise and plan your shift resources ensuring all operational targets are delivered with a forward-thinking approach to succession planning, information transfer, up skilling in the short, medium and long term.
Communicate effectively with all levels and departments within the company.
Identifying areas of improvement.
Ensure effective shift hand over at all times.
Produce effective and timely shift reports covering all aspects of the shift relating to performance monitoring metrics.
Develop and assist in all shift related lean manufacturing and continuous improvement teams in order to achieve and raise set targets.
Work closely with the maintenance department to allow planned PMS, downtime reporting, improve machine efficiency and reduce machine associated defects and wastage. Be proactive in working with maintenance and engineering departments to reduce hazards and health and safety associated risk.
Utilize shift labour within shift departments, ensuring adequate shift cover and effective cost control of shift labour budget.
Regularly interact with other shift managers, maintaining effective communication, planning and feedback between the shift patterns.
Facilitate, lead and develop shift meetings involving all departments.
Ideal candidates should have substantial previous relevant experience within a high-speed food manufacturing environment. (ideally 3years +)
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and be flexible in working times to meet production/ shift requirements.
You should be able to work on your own initiative and have the ability to form interdepartmental relationships and work closely with other managers.
