Vickerstock is working in partnership with a multi award winning Food Company that specialise in the chilled and frozen food sector and supply into the major UK & European retailers. Due to a period of significant growth, they are seeking to appoint a Supply Chain Manager to their team.
Supply Chain Manager Role Overview
As the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a major role in the management and execution of the manufacturing and production facilities procurement and purchasing strategies along with providing key assistance in the smooth and effective operation of the Supply Chain Department and acting as the number two to the Senior Supply Chain Manager.
Once fully trained and developed, the candidate will manage all aspects of procurement, supplier management, the supply of ingredients and raw materials for production and working towards the company’s strategic goals.
You will source, negotiate and set up supplier approval and agreements for new and existing materials/services making the best use of a multimillion Euro budget and identifying opportunities for cost reductions and savings to be made.
Play a leading role in maintaining supplier compliance, based on performance, cost, quality and delivery of service, and assist in the day to day management of the supply chain department in areas such as capacity planning, warehousing, distribution and customer service delivery.
Supply Chain Manager Requirements
Candidates will either have an existing track record in a buying or supply chain role within the FMCG manufacturing and production industry and ideally a suitable 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline.
You will have a profound efficiency in the use of ERP / MRP systems, i.e Sage or similar, a high level of numeracy ability and the essential attributes of negotiation and communication that Procurement and Supply Chain professionals put to use on a daily basis.
