Support all factory activities to ensure products meet specified quality and food safety standards.
Lead the BU HACCP team. Implement SMART improvement plans for all areas of activity.
Propose BU Quality Assurance budget with Division Technical Manager and Site Manager.
Verify products and processes to scientifically access the effectiveness of the production quality
Manage work routines and activities of QC team of 10+ food professionals
Ensure all QC’s are trained, resourced and understand responsibilities
Set annual Key Result Areas for QA team, complete annual development review
Monitor Quality and Production Key Performance Indicators and produce weekly management report
Keep FSMS documentation complete, available and up to date
Ensure all appropriate production measurements are recorded correctly, trends analysed.
Investigate and propose corrective action plans for all non-conformances
Support NPD process with technical guidance on packaging, SOP and specification
requirements for: HACCP, nutritionals, allergens, provenance, usage, storage etc
Assess, select, monitor and improve strategic suppliers.
Standardise and train all operating procedures, food safety and quality requirements.
Verify production standards.
Implement internal and supplier auditing systems to validate and improve production performance.
Graduate in relevant discipline
3+ years management experience
Experience in leading customer and regulatory audits.
Knowledge of BRC, retailer, national and producer group codes of practice food safety protocols.
Commercial outlook. Recognition that food safety is a vital weapon in the product offer.
Collaborative nature to support strong supportive relationship with functional peers
Lean Management ethos. Formal lean qualification a benefit.
